Churches of the SBA
Located in Western Nevada and Eastern California in an area covering over 30,000 square miles, these are the churches of the Sierra Baptist Association. Our churches are a diverse group of people who love Jesus and follow Jesus.
As you look through the entire list, please take time to pray for each church. Pray for the pastors. Pray for the members. Pray for the neighbors nearby.
Also, at the end of the list there is an article about the hope we have in Christ. Here is the story of one life changed by God’s grace.
Thank you to all the fantastic people of the SBA family. You are making a tremendous difference for the kingdom of God.

One Life Changed
Christ calls His church to make disciples (Matt. 28:16-20).
And we obey.
And that means we pray, asking God to change our friend. We plead with God to make this person a new creation in Christ (2 Cor. 5:17). We are on our faces before God, crying out for Him to give our friend a new heart and a new spirit (Ezek. 36:26).
And we speak, telling our friend about new life in Christ. We make the gospel clear. We pass on as most important what we also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures (1 Cor. 15:1-4).
And then one day, there’s new birth (John 3:1-16), a miracle wrought of God. For by God’s grace, our friend admits his need for Christ. Our friend knows he’s a sinner who falls short of God’s glory (Rom. 3:23). Our friend confesses Jesus is Lord and believes in his heart that God raised Jesus from the dead. This person takes God at His word: everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved (Rom 10:13).
And then, there’s baptism, as our friend obeys Jesus, declaring for all to see that by God’s grace he is united to Christ—His death and His resurrection. By God’s grace, our friend has died to sin and has been raised to walk in newness of life (Rom. 6:1-7)! We rejoice over this one life changed, a sinner who repents (Luke 15:10). We praise and thank God for His mighty work of salvation.
And we teach. We remind our friend (and many others, including ourselves!) of who we are in Christ. We read and study God’s word together. We come alongside him. We spend time with him. We serve with him. We pray with him, for there’s someone he knows who needs to know Jesus.
